AGREEMENTS TOTALLING US$ 8.54 BILLION SIGNED AT CHINA-FRANCE FORUM

Agreements worth 60.6 billion yuan (US$ 8.54 billion) covering 58 projects were signed at the 7th China-France Forum on Sustainable Urban Development held in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province in central China, on Wednesday.

 

The forum was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the joint agreement between China and France to build the Sino-French Ecological Demonstration City of Wuhan. The project, covering an area of ​​39 square kilometers, integrated Chinese and French ecological urban construction concepts and is becoming a popular location for residents and businesses.

 

The agreements signed on Wednesday cover the areas of ecosystem protection, green economy, and urban construction, and involve 11 projects invested by France.

 

According to a white paper on the development of the Sino-French Ecological Demonstration City of Wuhan published on Wednesday, the Ecological Demonstration City has received over 3,000 government officials, entrepreneurs, and researchers from France in the past decade. Meanwhile, around 20 exchange trips to France have been organized as part of the project.

 

The Ecological Demonstration City has attracted a total investment of 103.5 billion yuan, and its current use of foreign capital has reached US$ 1.3 billion, according to the white paper.
