China will continue to expand opening up and share the dividends of development, says Vice President

"China will continue to expand high-level opening up and share its development dividends with all parties," said Vice President Han Zheng on Monday.

Han made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Global Summit on Trade and Investment Promotion in Beijing.

Only by steadfastly advancing trade and investment liberalization and facilitation and safeguarding the resilience and stability of global supply and industrial chains can cooperation bonds be strengthened and mutual benefits expanded, Han said.

He called for efforts to seize the opportunity of a new round of technological and industrial revolution, strengthen scientific innovation, and nurture new growth engines.

As the world's second-largest economy, China's contribution to global economic growth has remained around 30% for many years, Han said, adding that China is willing to share its development opportunities with the world and welcomes companies from around the world to continue investing in the country.

This was the third edition of the summit, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

More than 750 people from international organizations, foreign chambers of commerce, global trade promotion organizations, businesses, among others, participated in the summit.
